1. Overview
StreamCalc ("the app", "we") is a free, independent tool that estimates Twitch earnings from subscriber counts, Prime Gaming assumptions, and Bits. This policy describes what data the app actually handles. It is written to describe the app's real behavior as implemented, and it uses careful, qualified language where behavior depends on third-party services.
2. Manual calculator mode (no account required)
- Your figures stay in your browser. Subscription counts, price assumptions, Bits totals, Prime counts, tax adjustments, and similar inputs you type into the calculator are held in the browser's memory for the current page session. They are not sent to any API, and they are not saved to a database by this app. Refreshing or closing the page clears them.
- No account needed. You can use the entire calculator — including regional pricing, Prime country rates, currency conversion, comparisons, and copy/export — without signing in or connecting Twitch.
3. Optional Twitch connection
Connecting a Twitch account is entirely optional. If you choose to connect:
- Sign-in. The connection feature requires signing in first (for example, with Google or Lovable). Sign-in is handled by the app's hosting platform's authentication service.
- What is read from Twitch. With your authorization, the app reads only: your Twitch identity (channel name, login, avatar), your current subscriber list (available only to Affiliate and Partner channels), and your Bits leaderboard. The app does not request your email from Twitch or any scopes beyond what these features require.
- Where tokens are stored. Twitch access and refresh tokens are stored on the server, encrypted (AES-GCM) before storage, with the encryption key held in a server-side secret. Tokens are never stored in your browser's localStorage or sessionStorage by the app's Twitch feature, never placed in URLs, and never shown to other users.
- Who can see it. Your connection and imported snapshots are private to your account: database access rules restrict each row to its owner. Other users cannot read your connection or imported data.
- Imported data. When you refresh Twitch data, the app stores a snapshot of the figures Twitch returns (current subscriber counts by tier and gifts, and the Bits leaderboard for the period you selected), together with the sync time and connection status, so the card can display them. Imported figures are only copied into the calculator after you explicitly confirm them.
- Deletion. Using "Disconnect" revokes the connection: the app asks Twitch to revoke the token and deletes your stored connection and imported data from its database.
4. Currency conversion
When you select a display currency, the app requests exchange rates from a public rate service (ExchangeRate-API, with Frankfurter as a fallback). Only the request for rates is sent — your entered subscription counts, Bits figures, and earnings are never included in these requests. Rates are cached in the browser for the session. Conversion affects display only; all calculations remain in USD internally.
5. What the app does not do
- No advertising trackers and no third-party analytics tracking code are currently included in the app. This describes the current build and could change in the future; this page would be updated accordingly.
- No sale or sharing of your data with third parties for marketing.
- No collection of payment information — the app is free and does not process payments.
6. Third-party services involved
- Hosting platform — the app and its optional authentication/database run on the Lovable hosting platform, which may process standard technical data (such as IP address and request logs) to serve and secure the site. Their own privacy terms apply to that processing.
- Twitch — only if you connect an account; your use of Twitch is governed by Twitch's own terms and privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's font service, which may log the request.
- Exchange-rate services — as described in section 4.
- Error reporting — the app's framework may report technical error information to the hosting platform when the app crashes, so the developer can fix it. This is technical diagnostic data, not your calculator inputs.
7. Retention
Calculator inputs are not retained at all (section 2). For the optional Twitch connection, your connection and imported snapshots are kept until you disconnect or delete them. Retention in hosting-platform backups and server logs is controlled by the hosting platform and may persist for a limited period; we do not claim to control or be able to promise specific backup-retention windows.
8. Security
How the app protects data — including encryption of Twitch tokens and access controls — is described in the Security Policy.
9. Your choices
- Use the calculator without an account or Twitch connection.
- Disconnect Twitch at any time to delete your stored connection and imported data.
- Sign out of the app to end your session.
